This letter refers to the routine safeguards inspection of your programs for
the control of Safeguards Information and Unescorted Access Authorization

conducted by Mr. W. Lancaster of this office on February 7-9,.1990.
The
inspection was conducted at the Yankee Atomic Electric Company office in
Bolton, Massachusetts for the Yankee Nuclear Power Station located in Rowe,
Massachusetts. This also refers to the discussion of our findings held by
"
Mr. Lancaster with Messrs. T. Aubie and P. Fowler of your staff on
February 9, 1990.
Areas examined.during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I

Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, _and observations by the
inspector.
Within the scope.of this inspection, no violations were observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of'this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC-Public Document Room.
