This refers to the special safeguards inspections conducted by Mr. A. Tillman
and Ms. C. Perny of this office on June 3-4 and July 20-21, 1982, respectively,
of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-62 at the Brunswick 2 facility
and to the discussions of our findings held with Mr. C. R. Dietz, Plant Manager
at the conclusion of the inspections.
Areas examined during the inspections included your investigation into the
damaged under vessel instrumentation at Brunswick Unit 2 and those actions you
initiated to fulfill commitments in our Confirmation of Action Letter of
June 4, 1982. Within these areas, the inspections consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel and observations by the inspectors.
Within the scope of these inspections, no violations or deviations were
disclosed.
The material enclosed herewith contains Safeguards Information as defined by
10 CFR 73.21 and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals is prohibited by
Section 147 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
Therefore, the
material, with the exception of the report cover page which is an inspection
summary, will not be placed in the Public Document Room.
