In response to reference a),the Supply System has always acknowledged the need for assuring that the WNP-3 Safety Injection Tanks are fabricated in accordance with all Code and SAR requirements. Therefore, the Supply System will expand the response regarding the disposition and corrective actions for linear indications found in the safe-end welds of Safety Injection Tanks #3 and #4.
Ebasco, in conjunction with Combustion Engineering, has been directed to assure an evaluation of the safe-end indications per 10CFR50.55(e) is per-formed.
In addition, CE has connitted to repair the safe-end indications after Supply System review of the proposed CE repair plan.
The information required to supplement the final report for the subject condition (Reference b) will be forwarded to your office by August 15, 1982.
