Confirmation of Action - Brunswick 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-324 and 50-325 This refers to telephone conversations on July 2,1982, between Mr. Lynn Eury, Senior Vice President of your staff and Mr. R. C. Lewis of this office concerning special measures you will accomplish as a result of failure to identify and perfonn surveillance test requirements specified in the facility Technical Specifications. With regard to matters discussed, it is our understanding that Carolina Power and Light Company has taken or will take the following action on or before July 16, 1982.
1.
Investigate the cause of failure to perform surveillance tests involving degraded voltage relays on emergency electrical busses E-1 and E-2.
2.
Review all Technical Specification surveillance requirements, and your administrative control system for assuring that surveillance requirements are met.
3.
Review your Management Control Systems to determine why these surveillance requirements were not incorporated into your surveillance procedures and schedules.
We also understand that you plan to meet with this office by July 30, 1982, to discuss the results of your investigation and corrective actions.
Please inform this office immediately if your understanding of this matter is different from that stated above.
