This refers to the routine, safety insocction conducted by !!r. J. Linville of

this office on I ay 1-31, 1932, at the J. A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant,

discussions of our findings held by fir. Linville with yourself and other rcmbers

of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspection

Report which is enclosed with this letter. h'ithin those areas, the inspection

consisted of selective exaninations of procedures and representative records,

intervictis with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Our inspector also verified the steps you had taken to correct tbc violation

,

brought to your attention in a letter dated !! arch 2,1S32, and the violation

brought to your attention in a letter dated December 16, 1951, and violation C

brought to your attention in a letter dated January 20, 1932. L'c have no further

questions regarding your action at this time.

Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that certain of your activities

t:cre not conducted in full compliance with HRC requirements as set forth in the

'

Notice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.

These violations have been

cateqorized by severity level in accordance with the NRC Enforcenent policy.

(10 CFR 2, Appendix C) published in the Federal Register Notice (47 FR 9987) dated

i; arch 9,1932. You are required to respond to this letter and in preparing your

response, you should follow the instructions in Appendix A.

The responses directed by this letter and the. accompanying Notice are not subject

to the clearance procedures of the Office of !!anapenent and Budget as required by

the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1930 PL 96-511.
