Request for Withholding Information from Public Disclosure By your application and affidavit dated April 30, 1982, you submitted "McGuire 75%
Power Level Steam Generator Tube Wear Estimates," and requested that it be with-held from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790.
Your reasons for requesting our withholding of this information were that: (1) the information is owned and has been held in confidence by Westinghouse; (2) the information is of a type customarily held in confidence and not disclosed to the public; (3) the-information was transmitted to the Comission in confidence; and (4) the information is not available in public sources or available information has not been previously employed in the same original manner or method.
We have reviewed your application and material based on the requirements and cri-teria of 10 CFR 2.790 and have determined that the above-mentioned document sought to be withheld contains trade secrets or confidential, proprietary, commercial, or financial information.
We also have found at this time that the right of the public to be fully apprised as to the bases for and effects of the proposed action does not outweigh the demonstrated concern for protection of your competitive position. Accordingly, we have determined that the information should be withheld from public disclosure.
We therefore approve your request for withholding pursuant to Section 2.790 of 10 CFR Part 2 and are withholding CAW-82-23 from public inspection as proprietary.
Withholding from public inspection shall not affect the right, if any, of persons properly and directly concerned to inspect the documents.
If the need arises, we may send copies of this information to our consultants working in this area. We will, of course, assure that the consultants have signed the appropriate agree--
ments for handling proprietary data.
