APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Georgia Power Company Docket No. 50-425 Vogtle 2 License No. CPPR-109 As a result of the inspection conducted on March 9-12, 1982, and in accordance with the NRC Enforcement Policy, 47 FR 9987 (March 9, 1982), the following violation was identified.

10 CFR 50', Appendix B, Criterion V as implemented by paragraph 17.1.5 of the PSAR requires activities affecting quality be accomplished in accordance with documented procedures. GPC Specification X2AP01, Division C5 Section C5.1, Revision 5, paragraph B.3.d.7 requires undercut not to exceed 1/16 inch.

Contrary to the above, on March 11, 1982, activities were not accomplished in accordance with documented procedt:res in that undercut greater than 1/16 inch was noted at the toe of the weld joining plates 8-1 MIL to 8-1 MIR on the shield tank.

This is a Severity Level V Violation (Supplement II.E).

Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, you are hereby required to submit to this of fice within thirty days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including: (1) admission or denial of the alleged viola-tion; (2) the reasons for the violation if admitted; (3) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (4) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (5) the date when full compliance will be achieved. Consideration may be given to extending your response time for good cause shown.
