SUMMARY

OF MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE - MAY, 1982 May 1 Station is in Cold Shutdown mode 5 with Reactor Coolant through System pressure and Tavg. at ambient conditions.

May 8 May 9 Reactor Coolant System pressure and Tavg. at ambient through conditions. Type A Integrated Leak Rate Test is in progress.

May 22 May 23 On May 23rd at 0125 hours0.00145 days <br />0.0347 hours <br />2.066799e-4 weeks <br />4.75625e-5 months <br /> began to pressurize the Reactor through Coolant System to approximately 65 psig. to support the May 27 performance of Type C testing. At 1230 hours0.0142 days <br />0.342 hours <br />0.00203 weeks <br />4.68015e-4 months <br /> on the 23rd had condenser vacuum for condensate clean-up. Beaver Valley Power Station MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED MAINTENANCE - MAY 1982

1. The Pressurizer Power Operated Relief Block Valves'[MOV-RC-535,."36]

have been replaced due to cracked seats.

2. The Pressurizer Power Operated Relief Valves [PCV-RC-455C, 455D, and 456] actuator springs have been replaced because necessary preloading was no longer achievable.
3. Work on 3-inch and 6-inch Velan check valves, to change discs, has been completed. A total of ten 3-inch valves and fourteen 6-inch valves have had their discs changed.
4. Modification work to install a second Personnel Airlock on the Equipment Hatch has been completed.
5. Motor bearings on Component Cooling Pump [CCR-P-1C] have been replaced.
6. Modifications to the Emergency Diesel Generator's [EE-EG-2] Turbo Charger and Lube Oil system have been completed.

i 7. Overhaul work on the Main Feedwater Pumps [FW-P-1A and 1B]
