Dear Mr. Spessard:
This letter is written in response to a telephone conversation between Region III and Toledo Edison regarding instrument calibration procedures for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1.
In addition to providing an independent review of the Safety Features Actuation Systems (SFAS)
Instrument Calibration Procedures (Serial No. 1-250), Toledo Edison will also provide an independent review of the Reactor Protection System (RPS)
Instrument Calibration Procedures by August 31, 1982, and of the Steam and Feedwater Rupture Control System (SFRCS) Instrument Calibration Procedures by October 31, 1982. The intent of these reviews is to verify RPS and SFRCS instrument string accuracies. This will ensure compliance with the Davis-Besse Technical Specification requirements and the appropriate Safety Analysis.
