DPR-42 DT 50-306 DPR-60 Information Related to Post-TMI Requirements In a letter dated March 17, 1982 from Mr Darrell G Eisenhut, Director, Division of Licensing, USNRC (Generic Letter 82-05) we were requested to provide information related to the status of certain NUREG-0737 require-ments with implementation dates between July 1, 1981 and March 1, 1962.
We were requested to reply in accordance with 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.54(f) within 30 days.
The requested information is provided on the attached sheets for each of the NUREG-0737 items listed in Enclosure (1) of Mr Eisenhut's letter.

Schedule relief was requested in our letter dated December 31, 1979 for Unit 2 until the next refueling outage. Schedule relief will also be required for Unit 1 in the case of equipment required for the letdown and degassing function.
Justification for Proposed Schedule As noted in our December 30, 1980 letter our plant shielding study did not include the chemical and volume control system. Use of the reactor l
coolant vent system (NUREG-0737 Item II.B.1) was assumed. Control board wiring for the Unit 2 vent system is incomplete. The Unit 1 vent system is complete, however manual isolation valves inside containment were left closed to minimize the p.otential for inadvertent actuation. We now believe that locking out power to the power opercted valves in the system is I
sufficient to provide this assurance and the manual valves will be reopened l
during the next Unit I refueling outage.
Replacement of the loop B sample valves with fully qualified valves in Unit 2 was not completed as scheduled during the 1981 refueling outage because of equipment delivery problems.
Demonstration of Need for Proposed Schedule This work should be completed with the affected unit in a cold shutdown condition and is therefore scheduled for the next refueling outage.
Description of Compensatory Measures Beinn Taken in the Interim Alternative methods exist to direct letdown flow to the reactor coolant drain tank, pressurizer relief tank, or containac tt using air operated valves.

B. 3 All Applicability UUREG-0737 Schedule 1/1/82 Requirement Install upgraded post accident sampling capability Implementation Status Schedule relief requested Remarks The Unit 1 post accident sampling system is completed. The loop B sample valves for -Unit 2, however, must still be replaced with fully qualified valves. Schedule relief was requested in our letter dated December 31, 1981. Completion is scheduled for the end of the 1982 refueling outage (summer,1982).
Justification for Proposed Schedule These valves must be replaced with the unit in a cold shutdown condition. Replacement could not be done during the last Unit 2 refueling outage becasue of delivery problems.
Demonstration of Need for Proposed Schedule Valve replacement should be done with the plant in a cold or refueling shutdown condition.

Justification for Proposed Schedule Delays were experienced in manning for a sixth shift of operators.
This resulted in a delay in achieving the flexibility to conduct the necessary training. In addition, the summer

vacation schedule makes training difficut during the summer

Demonstration of Need for Proposed Schedule Initial training was completed on 11/15/81. Training for all required personnel was completed on 3/1/82. The schedule for initial training lapsed 45 days due to delays in manning our sixth shift and the summer vacation period.
Description of Compensatory Measures Beine Taken in the Interim 1
Training was completed for all non-shift personnel (e.g. supervisors, engineers, and shif t technical advisors) by 10/1/81. These individuals possessed the required knowledge and would be available to shift personnel for consultation.

High range noble gas monitors have been installed on Unit 1 and Unit 2 shield building ventilation stacks. A description is contained in NSP letter dated December 30, 1980.
Completion of the steam relief monitors is now scheduled for April 30, 1982. Schedule relief was requested in our letters dated December 31, 1981 and Nhrch 1, 1982.
Justification for Proposed Schedule Flow sensor and amplifier problems have developed and spare parts have been difficult to obtain.
Computer problems have also been experienced.

Due to the unavailability of parts and unforeseen installation problems an additional four months are needed to fully implement this design change.

Description of Compensatory Measures Beine Taken in the Interim Interim procedures have been written for determining the amount of activity being released in an accident situation.
This is accomplished with portable survey meters which view the steam line from a shielded collimator. -
