Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
By letter dated April 1,1980, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) responded to IE Bulletin 80-03 and committed at that time to inspect future shipments of charcoal adsorber cells for the specified deficiencies.
It was also stated that six units had been received and inspected with no deficiencies noted.
CP&L is satisfied that the problems described in IE Bulletin 80-03 for tray type adsorber cells are not common to the hopper type of charcoal beds used at Shearon Harris and intends to discontinue the charcoal cell inspection program.
