Docket No. 50-302 Regulators often fail to provide the managers of companies they regulate with appropriate recognition in safety related areas in which a good job was done.
This type of recognition seems to me to be particularly appropriate in situations where some companies performed exceptionally well in relation to other companies.
In that vein, we are pleased to note that your organization took the initiative and installed the early warning public notification system at the Crystal River Nuclear Plant in a timely manner, so as to meet the initially required due date of July 1,1981.
As you are aware, the overall effectiveness tests of these systems still await the development of criteria by the Federal Emergency Management Agency; however, the above accomplishment is certainly noteworthy in that many other companies did not meet that date.
Several companies still have not completed installation of the required system.
Such actions reflect credit on your organization.
Your continuing efforts in this area are certainly in the public's interest.
