Stbject: Eligibility of the May House for the National Register of Historic Places Pursuant to our responsibility under 36 CFR 63 as licensing agency for the operation of Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, Units 1 and 2, the NRC requests information in order to initiate a determination of eligibility request to the Keeper of the National Register. The information requested is in regard to the May House identified in a survey prepared by you in j
1973.
On May 5,1982, the Texas Deputy State Historic Preservation Officer asked the NRC to request a detemination of eligibility on May House (see enclosed letter from LaVerne Herrington, Texas Historical Comission to Mr. B. J.
Youngblood,NRC).
As discussed in previous telephone conversations between Louis Bykoski, i
NRC and Mr. Richard Werner of your staff, the U. S. Department of Interior form entitled, " National Register of Historic Places Inventory-Nomination Fom" should be used and should be filled out in detail with accompanied map and other materials such as photographs and returned to the NRC. Item 12 of the form does not need to be filled out. You should refer to the Federal Register, Sootember 21, 1977, Part II for detailed guidance with regard to the level of documentation necessary to accompany the requested infomation. The NRC requests that you take appropriate measures to protect the resources during the detemination of eligibility process.
Sincerely, eriginal sisned b78 4
