Reference TVA Part 21 Report concerning welding at Hartsville and Phipps Bend facilities.
Bob Baer. IE:HQ, informed me on 9/11/81 that he had received a call on 9/10 from Bob Bosnak, NRR. Bosnak received a telephone call from Roger Reedy (408-354-9110), a meinber of the ASME Working Group and a consultant to TVA.
Reedy stated that he had recently been used by TVA as a consultant in a suit where TVA is suing Atlas and Atlas is suing TVA.
Reedy's concern is one of safety involving a major structure in the steam tunnel and dry well frames at Hartsville. He claims that the work is poor, in that welding procedures were not followed and that the poor quality welds will result in the struc-tures being inadequate to survive a design basis earthquake.
I would think a telephone call by ETI to Reedy is in order to put an envelope around his concerns, and that ETI has responsibility for following up on those items of concern involving welding.
