Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
In a letter dated April 22, 1981, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) revised the schedule for completing the equipment qualification testing for the installed Safety /.ielier Valve position indication equipment at the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant. The equipment qualification testing is being conducted for an owners' group of which CP&L is a member. Due to slippage in the owners' group schedule, the qualification testing was not completed by September, 1981, as previously scheduled. The slippage was caused by (1) the owners' group's need to satisfy certain plant-specific concerns of program participants, and (2) anomalies encountered in the post-thermal aging functional tests. The owners' group's current schedule projects completion of the testing by October 1, 1982. Based on this schedule, CP&L will submit the final test report to the NRC by December 1, 1982.
