This refers to the meeting held with you and others of your staff at the Surry
site on flarch 25, 1982 at our request.
This meeting related to activities
authorized by NRC Operating Licenses DPR-32 and DPR-37 for Surry. The subjects
discussed are detailed in the enclosed inspection report.
Our concerns about the effectiveness of your operations management controls were
expressed to you at the meeting and your positive response to our ccr.cerns is
appreciated.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and has provided for a better
understanding of inspection ard enforcement issues.
In accordance with Section
2.790 of NRC's " Rules of Practice", Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal
Regulations, a copy of this letter and enclosure will be placed in the NRC's
