ACCEPTAl ICE OF REVISIO!! 4 TO NORTHEAST UTILITIES QUALITY ASSURNICE PROGRAM TOPICAL REPORT We have reviewed and evaluated Revision 4 to the flortheast Utilities (flu)
Quality Assurance Topical Report flV-QA-1, submitted with your letter of flovember 5,1981, and as modified in your letter of March 18, 1982.
Revision I
4 reflects organizational, procedural, and editorial changes.
We find that this report describes a quality assurance program that meets the criteria in Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 and is therefore acceptable.
You may implement it upon issuance.
For the liU quality assurance program, you need only reference this topical report in Chapter 17 of license appli-ca tions. We do not intend to repeat our review of this topical report when it is referenced in an application.
Should regulatory criteria or regulations change such that our conclusions about this topical report are invalidated, we will notify you.
You will be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit it should you so desire. Pro-grammatic changes by tiU to this topical report are to be submitted to NRC for review prior to implementation. Organizational changes are to be sub-mitted no later than 30 days after announcement.
Please include a copy of this letter and our evaluation in the report, renum-ber the report itU-QA-1, Rev. 4A, and transmit 40 copies to the NRC.
