~g In the enclosed letter, we request that Conoustion Engineering (CE) provide additional inforraation about rapid depressurization and decay heat renoval for CESSAR plants. Since the Waterford Unit 3 design is similar to CESSAR in that it is a Cr. plant without power operated relief valves, we request that you provide a similar evaluation of the rapid cepressurization and decay heat resmval capabilities of the Waterford J design anc, to the extent applicable, incorporate repsonses to the enclosed questions. Furhter, we request that within seven days of your receipt of their letter you provide o schedule for the submittal of this evaluation.

We requesc that within seven days of receipt of this letter, you provice a schedule for your response to the enclosco questions applied to Waterford Unit 3.

If your response to all of the encloseo questions will not be provided at least one aanth prior to the anticipated fuel loao date for Laterforc unit 3, we request that you provice a justification for safe operation of tne plant in the interin.
