Fission and activation gases:
Continuous discharge - vent stack samples are analyzed nonthly and the levels of activities determined are assuned to hold for the period between samples. The continuous vent stack monitor reading is used as a basis for increasing periodic sample frequency. Air ejector is sampled monthly and on any increase in continuous air ejector monitor reading.
Batch discharges - direct measurenent of waste gas holdup drtms are made before discharge. Containment vents and purges are analyzed by direct measurenent of the containment atmosphere at periodic intervals during the discharge.
b.
Continuous monitoring of primary vent stack iodines are made by weekly measurenents of an in-line charcoal filter.
Batch discharges - direct measurement of waste gas holdup drums before discharge, c.
Particulates - continuous monitoring of primary vent stack is made by weekly measurenent of an in-line particulate filter.

j RE! EASE OF WASTE GAS S1DRAGE DRINS BFFORE 60-DAY HOLDUP PERIOD Technical Specification 3.17B3 requires a special effluent report should the average holdup time of waste gas be less than 60 days.
We folloaing drums had a holdup time of less than 60 days during normal operations in the 2d half of 1980.
(In days)
Release No.
Decay Drum Dite Isolated Dite Reicased Ibidup Time Cu.Ft.
518 B
6/11/80 7/29/80 48 774 519 C
6/13/80 7/29/80 46 785 522 E
8/18/80 10/3/80 46 964
%e average holdup time for the second half of 1980, of all decay druns during normal operation, was' 58.6 days.
We decay drums released by Permit !b's. ' 518 and 519 contained gas generated during plant startep follueing the June shutdown. % eir early release was dictated by the need for additional storage volume.
Early release of the decay drun by Pennit No. 522 was required because of decreased available storage space resulting from leaking valves on two decay druns. As these two druns were unavailable for use, storage space was decreased by 407..
'shis reduced volume forced the early release of the drum.
