APPENDIX J REQUIREMENTS (CONTAINMENT LEAKAGE TESTING)

RE:

Haddam Neck Plant The Comission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 49 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-61 for the Haddam Neck Plant. This amend-ment is in response to your applications dated June 27,1977 and Se September 21, 1979.

The amendnent approves changes to the Appendix A Technical Specifications which incorporate requirements of Appendix J to 10 CFR Part 50, Containment Leakage Testing.

Note that the supporting Safety Evaluation (enclosed) includes discussion about exemptions you requested which are not necessary.

It also documents the comitments you have made with respect to Type C testing and the direction at which isolation valve VH-V-507 will be tested. A related Technical Evaluation Report (TER) prepared by our contractor Franklin Research Center is attached to our Safety Evaluation.
