This refers to the corporate managenent meeting held at your request at
this office on July 7,1977, and attended by Messrs. Caldwell, Cahill,
Kessig and McGrath of the Consolidated Edison Company and by Messrs.
Brunner, Davis, Knapp, Streeter, a.nd myself of this office.

The subjects discussed during this meeti.ng are included in the Office of
Inspection and Enforcement Report which is enclosed with this letter.
It is our view that this meeting was effective in comunicating to you
our recent findings related to your implemen.tation of an effective
radiation protection program at Indian Point 5tation.
We understand
~
that you will assure commitments made by you, which are in progress to
improve your program, will be met on the dates previously established.
In addition, we understand that your efforts to upgrade the facility
,
procedures at Unit 2 and your efforts to improve your coordination of
implementation of Environmental Technical Specification Requirements
will be completed in a timely manner.
Information contained within the enclosed report has been discussed with
Mr. Kessig of your staff by telephone on July 8,1977.
During this
discussion, it was concluded that the report contained no information
that you considered proprietary; therefore a copy of this letter and its
enclosure are being placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
