This refers to the inspection conducted by Dr. Callina of this

office on April 29 thru May 3 and May 13, 1974 at the Indian Point

Nuclear Generating Facility of activities authorized by AEC License

Nos. DPR-3, D2?.-26 and CPPR-62 and to the discussiens of our

finding held by Dr. Gallin: tiith Messrs. Stein, Salay, Van Uyck,

Cheifeta, Liebler and Ferraro at the conclusion of the inspection,

and to a subsequent telephone discussion betucen members of cur

staff and Messrs. Cahill, Zarahas and Van Wyck on May 6, 7 and 8,

1974. This also refers to the meeting held at the site on May 13,

1974 and attended by Mr. Stchr and Dr. Gallina of our office

,

and by Messrs. Cahill, Zarakas, Stein, Salay, Van Uyck, Cheifetz,

Dinassie and Dr. Doyle of your staff.

Arcas examined during this inspection are described in the Regulatory

Operations Inc.pcetion Report uhich is enclosed with this letter.

Within these areas, the inspection coasisted of selective examinations

of proceduros and represcatative records, intervicus with personnel,

and observations by the inspector.

During this inspection, it uns found that,certain of your activities

appeared to be in violation of AEC requirements.

The itets and

references to the pertinent requirements are listed in the enclosure

to this letter.

This letter constitutes a notice sont to you pursuant

to the provisions of Section 2.201 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice",

Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal R:gulations.

Although Section

2.201 requires you to submit to this office, within 20 days of your

rcccipt of this notice a written statement of cnplanation, ne note

that these violations were corrected prior to the ccepletion of our

inspection and therefore, no response with respect to these catters

is required.
