Inspection 50-293/82-01
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by I'r. J. Johnson
of this office on January 18, 1962 - February 28, 1982, at the Pilgrim
lluclear power Station, Plyrouth, l'assachusetts, of activities authorized by
!AC License No. DPR-35 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr.
Jchnson with fir. C. !!athis at the conclusion af the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the I:RC Region I
Inspection Report enclosed with this letter.
liithin these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective exaninations of procedures and repre-
,
sentative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Based on the results of this inspection, it appears that certain of your
activities were not conducted in full compliance with !;PC requirements, as
set forth in the flotice of Violation, enclosed herewith as Appendix A.
These items of noncompliance have been catenorized into the levels described
in the Federal Register !!otice (45 FR 66754) dated October 7,1980.
You
are required to respond to this letter; and, in preparing your response,
you should follow the instructions in the Appendix.
In accurdance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosures
will be placed in the llRC Public Docurient Roon, unless you notify this
office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit
written application to withhold inforration contained therein within thirty
days of the date of this letter.
Such application rust be consistent with
the requirerents of 2.790(b)(1).
