Dear Mr. Denton:
The December 29, 1981 memorandum from Mr. Butler of the Containment System Branch to Mr. Skovholt stated that all the valves listed in Table 6.2-53a of the V. C.
Summer FSAR should be included in Table 3.6-1 of our Technical Specifications. We have reviewed the two tables and determined that it would be inappropriate to include all the valves in the FSAR Table. The list in the FSAR identifies all the valves that are subject to Type C leakage tests. Table 3.6-1 identifies all the valves that are needed to isolate the reactor building atmosphere from the outside environment in case of an accident. Some valves that are subject to Type C leakage tests, if isolated, would disabic parts of engineered safety feature systems and, therefore, should not be included in Table 3.6-1.
However, during the review of the two tables, we did discover that all the valves needed for containment isolation had not been listed. Enclosed is a revised Table 3.6-1 which should replace the current Table 3.6-1 in our Technical Specifications.
