Dear Mr. Denton:

Enclosed is a new revision to Specification 3.6.1.6, Cbntainment Structural Integrity. This revision is based on the requirenents of Propsed Revision 3 of Ibgulatory Guide 1.35, " Inservice Inspection of Ungrouted Tencions in

'en3 stressed Concrete Containments," April, 1979. This new revision is the 2.esult of a detailed study made by Gilbert Associates, Inc. (GAI).

Ebr information, enclcsed in Attachment I is a detailed discussion of:

1) The previously proposed V. C. Sunmer Specification with NRC ccanents (Attachment A);

2) The San Onofre Specification (Attachment B);

3)

Proposed Revision 3 of Regulatory Guide 1.35; which serves as the basis for our requested change.
