Subject:

Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Reactor Building Ir.tegrated Leak Rate Test .

Dear Mr. Denton:

South Carolina Electric and Gas Company, acting for itself and as agent for the South Carolina Public Service Authority, submitted the " Reactor Building Integrated Leak Rate Test (Type A) Final Technical Report" for your review on April 23, 1931. Since that time, local leak rate tests have been performed on some penetrations that will result in the total ILRT leakage being increased by 450cc/ min. The following penetrations required the additional testing: 107, which is the fuel transfer tube blank flange; 327, which is the Reactor Building spray pump A recirculation sump suction; 201, 210, 211, 212, and 216, which are leak rate pressurization system penetrations; 324 and 417D, which were spare penetrations that have been converted for reactor vessel level indication and post accident sample and breathing air; 208 and 209, which were also snare penetrations, have been converted for the CRDM Cooling System. The ILRT Test Data Sheets for these penetrations are attached.

! If you have any questions concerning this matter, please feel free to call us.

Very truly yours, g

C, A T. C. Nichols, Jr.
