In support of the Unit 1 Cycle 6 refueling outage activities, the following two fire barriers were intentionally breached.

1.

Penetration Mark No. 20 2.

Penetration Mark No. 1287 i

These conditions are being reported in accordance with Technical Specification Action Statement 3.7.12.a.

PENETRATION MARK No. 20 Description of Condition On June 19, 1993, a apare mechanical penetration (mark No. 20) was breached.

The penetration is located in the auxiliary building and penetrates the shield building wall. The penetration was breached to route electrical sensor cables and pressure sensor lines into-the Unit 1 annulus area in support of the containment integrated leak-rate test (CILRT) to be performed.

The CILRT activity is not expected to be completed until late September, near the end of the Unit 1 outage.

Corrective Action In accordance with LCO 3.7.12 Action Statement (a), the fire detectors on-one side of the breach were verified operable; a roving fire watch was established. The fire watch will be maintained until the breach is removed and the fire barrier is reestablished.

PENETRATION MARK NO. 1287 Description of Condition On June 19, 1993, a mechanical penetration (mark No. 1287) was breached.

The penetration is located in the auxiliary building and penetrates the wall between the containment purge air supply fans and equipment room and the auxiliary building gas treatment system (ABGTS) room.

The penetration was breached to route inatrument cables into the ABGTS room in support of the CILRT to be performed. The CILRT activity is not expected to be completed until late September, near the end of the Unit 1 outage.

Corrective Action In accordance with LCO 3.7.12 Action Statement (a), the fire detectors on one side of the breach were verified operable; a roving fire watch was established. The fire watch will be maintained until the breach is-removed and the fire barrier is reestablished.
