Approval for employment of Mr. Jordan as a Consultant to Commissioner Roberts and for his access to National Security i

Information and Restricted Data prior to completion of the j

required security investigation.

4 Discussion:

Comissioner Roberts has requested Comission approval to employ Mr. Jordan as a Consultant and to permit him access to National Security Information and Restricted Data before his 1

security 1.nvestigation is completed and evaluated. The contents of the Personnel Security Questionnaire for Mr. Jordan was reviewed with favorable results. Mr. Jordan l

was previously granted a Department of Energy "Q" access j

authorization in March 1972 based on a Federal Bureau of Investigation full field investigation.

1 Comissioner Roberts has indicated the volume and urgency of the work awaiting Mr. Jordan's attention is such that it is 4

imperative he enter on duty May 10, 1982. The nature of the work requires access to National Security Information and i

Restricted Data.

The Divisit.,n of Organization and Personnel has advised that preemployment checks on Mr. Jordan contain no derogatory information.

Reconsnendation: The Comission:

1.

Determine pursuant to Section 145 b. of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, that the empb3eent of Mr. Jordan as a Consultant to Conutssioner Rcberts and armitting him access to National Security Information and ;testricted Data is clearly consistent with the national interest.

2.

Based on the above determination, grant Mr. Jordan an NRC "Q" access authorization.

Approval for employment of Ms. Frager as a Secretary to Comissioner Asselstine and for her access to Hattonal Security Information and Restricted Data prior to completion of the required security investigation.

Discussion:

Comissioner Asselstine has requested Comission approval to employ Ms. Frager as a Secretary and to pennit her access to National Security Information and Restricted Data before her security investigation is completed and evaluated.

Informa-tion provided on the Personnel Security Questionnaire prepared by Ms. Frager was reviewed with favorable results.
