SUMMARY

MONTH: May 1993 Catawba Unit 2 began the month of May operating at 100% power. The unit started a power decrease on 5/4 at 0001. During the power decrease, the unit held at approximately 30% power from 0601 to 0851 due to ATWS mitigation system actuation circuitry reset Ilght not clearing. The unit held at approximately 15%

power from 1100 to 1736 to add oil to a reactor coolant pump and perform feedwater valve work. During power escalation, the unit held at approximately 45% power from 5/5 at 0035 to 0300 for feedwater pump -

repair. The unit reached 100% power on 5/5 at 1100. The unit operated at or near '00% power for the remainder of the month. ,
