CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUIRED REGARDING LOW TEMPERATURE OVERPRESSURE PROTECTION (TAC NO. 75304)
By letter dated October 31, 1989, you made application to amend the Technical Specifichi. ions (TS) for Crystal River Unit 3.
The proposed changes would modify the TS related to operation under low temperature conditions to' provide overpressure protection.
The staff has' reviewed your submittal and has found that additional information is required in order to complete the. review.
The necessary information is identified in the enclosed Request-for Additional Information.
Since your staff has been aware of the needed information for some time, we request that you provide your response within 30 days of the date of this letter.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in-this letter affect fewer than 10 respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

RE00EST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CRYSTAL RIVER UNIT 3 LOW TEMPERATURE OVERPRESSURE PROTECTION With regard' to your proposed LTOP provisions, provide a discussion of the operator respunse to a LOCA occurring during operational Mode 3 with reactor coolant temperature at or below 283 deg-F and system pressure at 555 psig.
-Include the following:

-1 LOCA for operator action to initiate makeup flow such that tie criteria of 10 CFR Part 50.46 are not violated.
