A routine safety inspection of your annual emergency preparedness exercise was
conducted by Mr. C. Amato of this office and other members of an NRC team on May
.
18-20, 1990 at your Haddam Neck Plant, Haddam, Connecticut. Discussions of our
findings were held by Mr. Amato_ with you and your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection and with Mr. E. DeBarba in a telephone conversation on June 4,1990.
The areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I report
which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
examination of procedures and records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
.
the emergency exercise by team members.
Connecticut Yankee's performance demonstrated the ability to implement the
,
Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures in a manner that would
provide adequate protective measures for the health and safety of the public.
