This refers to the routine safety inspection of activities related to inservice
inspection including plant modifications and other safety related activities

conducted by Messrs. K. D. Ward and J. M. Jacobson of this office on
August 21 23, September 5-6, 18-20, 27-28 and October 16, 1989, of activities
at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant authorized by NRC Operating License
.
No. DPR-22 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. D. Antony and others
of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection resort identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, t1e inspection consisted of a selective

examination of precedures and representative records, observations, and

interviews with persormel.

No violations of NRC requirements were ider.tified during the course of this
inspection.

in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Comission's regulations, a copy of
