NAY 0 41930 Docket No. 50-317 50-318 Baltimore Gas and Electric Company ATTN: Mr. George C. Creel Vice President Nuclear Energy Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant MD Rts 2 & 4, P.O. Box 1535 i

Lusby, Maryland 20657 1

Gentlemen:

Subject:

NRC-UTILITY INSPECTION WORKSHOP Per my commitment from the April 1989 Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance Conference.in King of Prussia, I am proposing a workshop to be held at the Hilton in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania on June 20-21, 1990. The objective of the workshop is to promote a better understanding of the NRC's inspection program.

For your convenience, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Valley Forge Hilton, at the rate of $75.00 dollars per night for a single room.

Reserva-tions should be made dicectly with the Hilton (215-337-1200) for your staff by June 1, 1990. After the date. reservations will be accepted according to hotel availability. Whet 'naking reservations, mention that you will be attending the NRC-Utility ti e ection Workshop.

Enclosed is the proposed agenda wi9 keynote speakers and an outline for breakout sessions facilitated similar to previous conferences. Session topics are currently being developed, as proposed in the enclosed agenda, along with facilitators for the sessions. Bruce Preston of PSE&G (609-339-1229) is arranging for utility presentations. Gene Kelly of my staff (215-337-5234) is coordinating NRC presentations. Recommendations for discussion topics should be directed to Bruce or Gene as appropriate.

I anticipate that participation will include site management and senior nuclear executives, at levels similar to those in attendance at the April 1989 workshop. We estimate that 75-90 utility representatives and 25-30 NRC representatives will attend.

I look forward to your participation.

Sincerely, l
