Identification of Occurrence The High Temperature Detector for Zone 53 was not' restored to operable status.

i within the 14 days required by Rancho Seco Technical Specification 3.14.1.2.
Description of Occurrence The high temperature detector circuit for Zone 53 failed surveillance test-SP.345 Semiannual Inaccessible Fire Detection functional Test, because the detector would not alarm.
Corrective Action Taken A fire watch patrol was established within one hour to inspect'Zor.e 53 at least once per hour in accordance with Technical Specification 3.14.1.2 until the detector was retested on March 16,.1990 and found-to be operable. 'The cause of the original test failure was never identified.
