This letter refers to the announced inspection lead by Mr.:H, Kerch of this
office during the period of January 8<19, 1990 at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear

Power Plant in Lusby, Maryland. Mr. Kerch discussed the findings of the
inspection with Mr. M. Felgradt of your. staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
This inspection focused on activities related to modiff cation,- erosion-corrosion

and inservice inspection activities.
Areas examined during this inspection are

described in the NRC. Region I.Inspectio_n Report which is enclosed with this

letter. . Within-these areas, the inspection; consisted of selective examinations
of procedures and representative records,' interviews with-personnel and
observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this :nspection, certain areas of your activities appeared

to be in violation'of NRC requirements. A writter response.:is required for

the subject violations.
