This refers to the-routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. J. Furia of this
office on March 19 23, 1990, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-
35, and to the discussion of our findings held by Mr. J. Furia with Mr. A.
Davis and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection included transportation and radwaste
programs, and are described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report which is
enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective cuaminations af procedures and representative records, interviews
with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were noted.
The actions taken during the past year by your staff have significantly

improved the radwaste and transportation programs at Pilgrin Station.-
