Dear Mr. Davis:

This letter is in response to your March 4, 1982 letter concerning the policy of the Lake County State's Attorney's Office with respect to the prosecution of Commonwealth Edison Company employees for past possession or use of drugs.

It is the policy of this office to vigorously prosecute any individu-al who is arrested in the possession of narcotics or for selling narcotics.

Ilowever, we would decline prosecution for those indi'riduals who have admitted possession in the past where no evidence has been presented by the arresting agencies in the form of narcotics to corroborate this evidence.

Any information provided to law enforcenent officials which results in future arrests for the possession or sale of narcotics would result in prosecution and those individuals vould be arrested while possessing narcotics.

If you have any auestions concerning this policy, olease feel free to contact me.

Thank you.

Very truly yours, E

$^C W*h FRED L.
