SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR THE MONTH DOCKET NO. 50-206 UNIT SONGS 1 DATE 2-3-82 COMPLETED BY T. Raidy TELEPHONE (714)492-7700 Ext. 702 Jan. 1 0001 Unit on li.?e at 390 MW.

Jan. 7 2320 "C" Steam Generator Feedwater Flow Transmitter failed low.

Feedwater control placed in manual.

Jan. 8 0715 "C" Steam Generator Feedwater Flow Transmitter replaced with a spare. The seal Diaphragm of F. T. 458 was leaking to atmosphere causing a false indication of low flow.

Feedwater control on automatic and r.esponds correctly.

Jan.12 0004 Reducing unit load for stop valve test and condenser cleaning. Condenser vacuum loss required reducing load to 128 MW to avoid a low vacuum turbine trip.

Jan.12 0605 Completed turbine stop valve test, cleaning of north and south condenser halves, and quarterly RCS Low Flow Test.

Commenced increasing Unit load.

Jan.12 0740 Unit load 390 MW Jan.17 2248 Inst. Dept. has evaluated the instruments associated with RCP "A" No.1 Seal Leak Off-Flow. The indication is correct. Station personnel in contact with Westinghouse personnel.

Jan. 18 2310 It has been determined that RCP "A" No. 1 seal leak-off rupture disc is leaking approx.1.25 gpm.

This lea ~kage bypasses the seal leak-off flow meter but reenters the nornal leak-off flow stream and does not affect seal operation.

In lieu of being able to read th leak-off accurately, the seal injection temperature, floating bearing temperature, seal leak-off temperature, and calculated seal leak-off A T are being recorded once per, shift.

Jan. 22 2000 Commenced reducing Unit load to repair a leak in the body of Feedwater Control Valve FCV 456 Jan. 23 0205 Completed repairs to body of FCV 456.

Commenced increasing Unit load.
