SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - SHOREHAM NUCLEAR POWER STATION As a result of our review of your application for an operating license for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, we find that we need additional information regarding the remote shutdown panel ani engineered safety features reset (IE Bulletin 80-06). The specific requests for infomation are provided in Attachment 1.
He have completed our review of your request for authorization to use ASME Code Case 1481-2 for application in the construction of the diesel generator exhaust piping for the Shoreham Station as identified in your l etter SNRC-646, dated December 29, 1981.
Code Case 1481-2, dated July 11,1977, " Elevated Temperature Desigh of Section III, Division 1 Class 2 and 3 Components," is an acceptable code case and was approved by the Commission for general use and may be used in the construction of components during the period the code case was in effect.
He have reviewed the information supplied in support of your use of Revision 2 of the Code Case and we concur that this revision is applicable in the construction of the diesel generator exhaust piping for Shoreham. We find the use of Code Case 1481-2 as indicated above to be acceptable. Use of the Code Case should be documented in the FSAR.
