Dear ifr. Lundvall:
DJaffe Gray File By letter dated February 4, 1981, we were inforced that the Calvert Cliffs Unit i reactor pressure vessel surveillance capsule located at 2630 had rieen renoved from the reactor instead of the capsule located at 970 The proper schedule for surveillance capsule withdrawal is contained in Calvert Cliffs FSAR Section 4.6.3.
Additional information provided 1982 indicated that the contents of the by your letter of January 20, 0 are the same and that both capsules capsule located at 970 and 263 are identical in composition and occupy isofluent locations in the vessel. Accordingly, you have concluded that the analysis of the material properties of the contents of the capsules located at 970 and 2630 would be expected to be the same.
Based upon the information presented in your letters of February 4,1981 and January 20, 1932 we concur that the material properties of the contents of the capsule located at 970 would be expected to be similar to those properties observed for the capsule located at 2630 Acccrdingly, we have concluded that your revised schedule for removal of the Calvert Cliffs Unit 1 reactor pressure vessel surveillance capsules, involving renoval of the capsule located at 2630 prior to the capsule located at 970, is acceptable. This schedule change should be reflected in a future FSAR arrcndment as indicated in your letter of January 22, 1982.
