Papay, Vice President 4 Advanced Engineering N ' Gentlemen: Subject: NRC Inspection of San Onofre Unit No. 2 This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. A. Chaffee and M. Mendonca of this office on December 9,1981, to January 18, 1982, of activities autho- rized by NRC Construction Permit No. CPPR-97, and to the discussion of our findings held by Mr. Chaffee with Mr. Moody and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectcrs. No items of non compliance with NRC requirements were identified within the scope of this inspection. In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(, ',, a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by tele- phone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written application to withhold information containmi therein within thirty d:ys of the date of this letter.
