DUKE POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE 4

-The U. -S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amenduent No.12 to Facility Operating Licensing No. NPF-9, issued to Duke Power Coupany (licensee) for the McGuire Nuclear Station, Unit 1 (the facility) located in

Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
The anendment was authorized by telephone on January 11, 1982, and was con-firmed by letter on January 12, 1982. The amendment changes the_ Technical Specif-1 ications to reduce the Boron Injection Tank concentrations for a period of seven
+
days. This anendment was issued on an expedited basis to permit McGuire to return-
}
to power during a peak demand period.
The application for the anendment conplies with the standards and require-nents of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as anended (the Act),'and the Comission's regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the
-license amendment. Prior public notice of this acendment was' not required since
[
the anendnent does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
