SUBJECT:

ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION OF SAFETY-RELATED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, JOSEPH H. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT NO. 1 He have completed a preliminary review of your response to our Safety Evaluation concerning the Environmental Qualification (EQ) of Safety-Related Electrical Equipment. Our contractor (Franklin Research Center) has identified infomation, in most cases referenced from your submittals, which we need in order to complete our review. This infomation should all be contained in your EQ central file.

For this purpose, the requested information can be taken from your EQ central file and provided to our contractor. Upon completion of the review the infoma-tion will ha returned to you for replacement into the EQ central file.

We request that you supply the infomation identiffed in the enclosure to Franklin Research Center within 30 days of the date of this letter. Please send a full submittal to Franklin Research Center (address in the Enclosure) and the original cover letter to us. Address the letter to Operating Reactors Branch No. 1.

Please contact the NRC Project Manager, Ed Reeves, if further assistance is needed in this regard.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
