.___.__.g APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Yankee Atomic Electric Company Docket No. 50-29 Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Station License No. DPR-3 As a result of an inspection conducted on November 3-6, 1981 at the Yankee Rowe Nuclear Power Station and in accordance with Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7,1980), the following violation was identified:

Technical Specification 6.8.1 requires, in part, that written procedures be established and inplemented that meet or exceed the requirements and recommendations of Regulatory Guide 1.33, November 1972.

The Regulatory G':ide states, in part, that implementing procedures are required for each surveillance test, inspection, or calibration listed in technical specifications.

Contrcry to the above, procedures were not provided or used to document and perform instrument calibrations used to verify accuracy of surveillance tests l

listed in the technical specifications:

-- F0-LIT-1, Diesel Fuel Oil Tank Local Level Indicator, Calibration a

performed on May 27, 1980; 1

-- FW-PI-1060, Emergency Boiler Feed Pump Discharge Pressure, calibration I

perfornied on September 9,1980; and, j

-- FS-LT-1, Fire System Tank Level Transmit er, calibration performed on January 20, 1981.

This is a Severity Level VI Violation (Supplement I).

Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Yankee Atomic Electric Company is hereby required to submit to this office, within thirty days of the date of this notice, a written statement or explanation in reply including:

(1) the corrective steps which have been taken end the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further violations; and (3) the date when full complianc.e will be achieved.

of 1954, as ammended, this response shall be submitted under oath or Offi rmation. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending your response time.
