Catawba Nuclear Station (50-413 nd 50-414) - Operating License Safety Review As part of the NRC licensing review process, representatives of this office and the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation plan to visit your company offices and the Catawba Nuclear Station on November 16-18, 1981.
Our objective is to review the organization for operation of Catawba Nuclear Station with your staff, including the senior company official who will be in overall charge of nuclear operations, and the operating staff at the plant.
We would like to begin the review with a briefing on your organizational structure, followed by discussions with selected individuals in the company offices and at the plant.
From these discussions we hope to gain knowledge of the qualifications and attitudes of these individuals and an understanding of how they will actually fit into the operation of Catawba Nuclear Station. Our primary interest is in gaining assurances that management is involved with, informed about, and dedicated to the safe operation of Catawba Nuclear Station and that sufficient technical resources have been or will be provided to adequately support safe operation.
Specific items to be discussed are listed in the Enclosure. The review will be conducted by the following personnel:
