Subject:
Reactor Coolant Systen Spills at your Crystal R ver"Fa'cikity (DN: 50-302)
This confirms the telephone conversation on November 18, 1981, between Mr. Paul J. Kellogg, Chief, Reactor Projects Branch, of our office and Mr. J. A. Hancock, Assistant Vice President Nuclear Operations of your staff.
This conversation expressed our concern over three recent events concerning the spilling of radioactive water on the reactor and auxiliary building floors.
This concern relates to the conditions or circumstances that caused these events to be repeated, in the broad sense, and the adequacy and scope of your corrective actions taken to prevent recurrence following each event.
As you are aware, your specific actions are being examined by our Pasident Inspectors at this time.
Our Reactor Projects Sec t'on Chief, Mr. V. L. Brownlee, has been scheduled to visit your plant in the near future to review the extent of your corrective actions and the status of implementation.
Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
Sincerely, Janes P. O'Reilly Regional Administrator cc:
