FOURTH INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency One of the Bellefonte diesel generator's control panels wa.s improperly stored onsite by TVA. As a result, the ferrous metal par',3 of the subcomponent voltage regulation panel have oxidized to the extent that the component is not capable of performing the function for 'thich it was intended. In addition, corrosion of other components in the control panel (plates, nuts, and tolts, etc.) of the diesel have rendered it inoperable in its present condition.
Interim Progress The vendor (Transamerica Delaval) has notified TVA that the diesel's damaged voltage regulation panel, a component of control panel 2RT-ELCP-2-B, is beyond repair and cust be replaced. A bid has been submitted and delivery is expected to be 18-20 weeks after award of the bid.
Upon receipt of a replacement diesel voltage regulation panel the re=aining refurbishing on control panel 2RT-ELCP-2-B will be accomplished in accordance with work release No. 23,447. TVA has no firm delivery date on these materials.
