This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. J. L. Coley of this
office on November 2-6, 1981, of activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit
Nos. CPPR-116 and CPPR-117 for the Catawba facility and to the discussion of our
findings held with Mr. S. W. Dressler, Senior Construction Engineer, at the
conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection c.d our findings are discussed in the
enclosed inspection report.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope oi this inspection, no violations or deviations were disclosed.
We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously reported
unresolved items. The status of these items is discussed in the enclosed inspec-
tion report.
One new unresolved item resulted from this inspection and is discussed in the
enclosed report. This item will be examined during subsequent inspections.
In accordance wito 10 CFR 2.790(a), a cepj of this letter and the enclosure (s)
will be placed in the NRC's Public Documcr.c Room unless you notify this office,
by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written
application to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the
date of this letter.
Such application must be consistent with the requirements
of 2.790(b)(1).
