MARK I CONTAINMENT PROGRAM CONTAINMENT MODIFICATION STATUS

SUMMARY

On May 22, 1981, the Mark I Owners Group met with the NRC staff to discuss plant modifications and schedules being implemented as part of the Mark I Long Term Program.

At this meeting, the NRC staff requested a containment modification status summary for each Mark I plant giving the status of its containment modifications and estimates of completion dates.

Attached is the information the NRC staff requested for all Mark I plants except Hope Creek (Public Service Electric & Gas) and Oyster Creek (Jersey Central Power & Light).

Hope Creek is not yet operating and Oyster Creek will be providing their information separately.

The attached information is being provided by the General Electric Company on behalf of Mark I Owners Group as part of the Mark I Contain-ment Program. Any questions on the attached informatim should be directed to the individual utilities.

It is our understanding that this information will be used by the NRC staff to obtain concurrence of the NRC Commissioners with the updated Mark I modification schedules.
