Mr. Harold R. Denton Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555
Subject:
Crystal River Unit 3 Docket No. 50-302 Operating License No. DPR-72 Nuclear Safety Task Force Follow-Up
Dear Mr. Denton:
In our letter of April 16, 1981, Florida Power Corporation provided you with a schedule for study or review of 26 Nuclear Safety Task Force recomendations.
We have discovered that this letter contained several errors and omissions.
Attachment i to our April 16, 1981 letter identified only 26 recommen-dations which will be evaluated 1981, rather than the 40 delineated in our letter of March 6,1981. of this letter is a com-plete schedule for evaluation of those 40 recommendations. Attachment i
1 of our April 16 letter referred to Task Force Recommendation 6.1.
l This was a typographical error and should have read 6.7.
The comple-tion date of 10/16/81 for this study was correct.
Also, we indicated the review of recommendations 3.9 would be completed by 8/7/81.
This review has already been completed.
We regret this error and hope it has not caused you any inconvenience.
Very truly yours,
&f ODl P. Y. Baynard 3

ATTACHMENT 1 Nuclear Safety Task Force Follow-up In our March 6,1981 response, FPC identified 40 Nuclear Safety Task Force recommendations which will require additional evaluation.
Of those 40 items, 9 have been identified as known problems which will require a formal engineering study to determine the best alternative solution.
These are Safety Task Force recommendations 1.21, 3.13, 3.22, 3.23, 5.1, 5.8 5.82, 6.7 and 6.8.
A schedule for completion of the studies for these items is shown below.
The remaining 31 items are, in FPC's opinion, potential problems that require additional investigative research before it is determined that a problem exists.
The schedules for this investigative work for each of these items is shown below.
Following completion of our additional review of each of these items, we will provide you with our conclusions and justifica-tion for these conclusions as to whether or not a problem exists.
In the cases where actual problems are identified, we will provide you with our schedule to resolve each item.
